HOOLIGAN UK.COM : DESIGN
In order to design a website for Hooligan UK, it was necessary to study the original look of the Bad Manners band, along with the British flair that originated it all.
Bensoft chose to integrate the George Cross into the overall layout, with a useful search function directly below the main navigation,
and a bright yellow sidebar on the Bad Manners informational pages. That sidebar was used again in the e-commerce section in blue to distinguish it
from the news, and this time was used for the Special Offers.
As both a site for music and football fans, and an e-commerce site offering unique t-shirts and accessories, Hooligan UK pushes the envelope of the conventional web approach by adopting an irreverent and humorous style. Appropriate for the age and interest demographic of desired visitors, this sometimes tongue-in-cheek attitude has been very effective in motivating contact and interaction of visitors with not only the site owners, but also encourages visitors to communicate with each other. This reinforces the goal of making this site a destination for those sharing this interest in music and football, and enhances valuable word-of-mouth marketing.
